I saw CM Punk's documentary from his Best In The World WWE DVD last Thursday night and the documentary had some footage from Punk's early wrestling career. It showed highlights of many matches and one of those matches was CM Punk vs. Chris Hero (Kassius Ohno in the WWE) in a Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match. It looks like an amazing match and I would love to have the complete match on DVD someday.
UPDATE (October 27, 2012 12:27 PM): I now have the complete match on DVD and it is a ****1/4 match. I would rank it just ahead of CM Punk's Chicago Street Fight at Extreme Rules 2012 against Chris Jericho.
UPDATE #2 (May 4, 2013 11:22 AM): I decided to change my rating. It is a ****1/2 match. It's definitely one of the CM Punk's best matches.
Speaking of DVD'S, I saw the recent Edge one at Target for five bucks.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really good price for a DVD that new. Did you pick it up? Speaking of DVDs, I pre-ordered the Punk blu-ray and found out that Kmart will sell it for $14.99. I might be returning CM Punk to Best Buy when it arrives in the mail.
DeleteThat match looks so awesome...I loved it when Punk hit the referee and the ref started fighting back. That match looked so fun. CM Punk said in the documentary that it was the last match in that barn and he was literally trying to tear the house down because he thought it would be a cool way for the company's stint in that barn to end.

ReplyDeleteThanks, I thought it went well. I was told that everybody starts out part-time and you don't get insurance for two years! I guess they do that so the CEO can get a 65 percent pay increase.
DeleteThat's what it was like when I worked at UPS. You don't get any full benefits until 1.5 years after you start working and I think the clock doesn't start until you pass your 90 day probation period. I don't know the full details because I left after seven months. It's an easy job to get because not many people last longer than a few months.

DeleteI noticed while watching the DVD that Punk doesn't have many classic WWE matches. Maybe that's because he's only been in the WWE since 2006 but most of his very good matches on the DVD happened in 2010 or later. Other than the Del Rio match at Survivor Series, what other match could they have included that would not be a repeat opponent?
